WWE butterfly valves and actuators can be found in various places on board any type of ship, wherever critical applications demand maximum reliability. Quality is guaranteed by numerous international product certificates and approved manufacturing survey arrangements. Possible applications include:

For Shipbuilding we offer three product lines: rubber lined butterfly valves, high performance butterfly valves, and actuators.


Wouter Witzel rubberlined butterflyvalves
Wouter Witzel butterfly valves are produced in seawater resistant versions for on-board applications. A variety of materials are available for this purpose, such as Alubronze and Duplex 1.4462 (a highly wear resistant, strong, stainless steel). We have a very extensive range of butterfly valves. Diameters of up to 2200 mm are no longer exceptional. We can also supply different types, such as wafer, lugged, double and single flanged, to suit a variety of applications and mountings. The vulcanised Wouter Witzel EuroValve butterfly valve, with a fixed high quality rubber seal, is eminently suitable for the Jetwater system in dredging vessels. A sophisticated selection of materials ensures a durable and therefore reliable and maintenance free valve. Almost all supplied valves come with specific approvals and/or certifi cates. This valve is used in ballast, bilge, cooling, fire fighting, inert gas, fuel oil, lub oil, Jetwater and other systems.

Dynaxe
Dynaxe butterfly valves for the maritime sector are made of seawater resistant materials. A wide choice, suitable for numerous applications, is available, including various rust free steels, Alubronze and many high alloy materials. A wide selection of seal materials is also available. This long life butterfly valve is easy to install. If the butterfly valve needs servicing, this can be done quickly and without any need for special tools. The Dynaxe is suitable for use with all actuators and is approved by many classifying bodies. This valve is used in the following systems and applications: cargo, bilge, fire fighting, fire safe applications, fuel oil (high temperatures), asphalt, exhaust systems, high pressure systems (up to 50 bar), high temperature systems, etc. For more information about our Dynaxe valves, click here.

Actuators
Another important component of the butterfly valve is the actuator. Besides manual operation by means of a lever or gear unit we offer a wide range of automatic actuators and accessories such as terminal switches, regulating valves and positioners for control valves. In shipbuilding process automation it is of the utmost importance that the right type of actuator be chosen. Wouter Witzel EuroValve has many years of specific experience in this area and can give you the advice you need to make a choice that is both responsible and affordable. Besides our own electric and pneumatic actuators we can supply almost any brand. We are also very experienced in assembling, setting and testing actuators. This is only natural, as the combination of actuators and Wouter Witzel butterfly valves largely determines the reliability of your installation. Certificates / Approvals
Wouter Witzel EuroValve supplies valve with accompanying certificates and approvals, both national and international. A list of these approvals can be found here. Examples of certificates are: ABS, BV, CCS, CroS, DNV, GL, LR and RMRS. We also have performance tests, like:

- CRUISE VESSEL Genesis project (DNV) (Aker Finyards).
Currently the world’s biggest cruise vessel. For this project we supplied all the butterfly valves for every conceivable system.
- TANKER CICEK Shipyard NB41 (BV): 25600 DWT chemical tanker.
For this project we supplied a complete hydraulically operated ballast and cargo system, with rubber lined butterfly valves for the ballast system and high performance butterfly valves for the cargo system
- DREDGING VESSEL Construcciones Navales Del Norte (La Naval), formerly IZAR NB332.
Mega hopper (BV) with a capacity of 46,000 m3. For this project we supplied all conceivable butterfly valves, including the hydraulic actuators.
